Robin Kane is the Zaentz Initiative's Assistant Director of Professional Institutes and Partnerships. She leads the strategic direction of the initiative and manages financial and human capital resources to accomplish the initiative’s overarching goals. She draws on her early childhood expertise to develop learning objectives and content for the Professional Learning Academy.
A former early childhood educator and director, Kane founded a child development center in 1991, where she taught children and mentored teachers for over 23 years, and remains an active member of that community today. She is also a member of the Massachusetts early education community, and provides professional development training and coaching to novice and experienced early educators. Most recently, projects in her portfolio include the development of literacy curricula and interventions for an inner city district, and the design and implementation of innovative professional development programs and materials for early educators. With her colleagues, Kane has authored several publications, including a set of widely circulated policy briefs written for leaders dedicated to promoting children’s learning and development through high-quality early education.
