Laura Quiñones is a research assistant with the Zaentz Initiative. She serves as part of the Professional Learning Academy’s content development team and leads the creation of in-person and online learning experiences. She earned an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) with focused studies on Human Development and Psychology. During her time at HGSE, Quiñones worked in the Ecological Approach to Social Emotional Learning (EASEL) Laboratory.
Before moving to Cambridge, she co-developed a curriculum promoting language acquisition and social emotional skills. The interventions were implemented in pre-k and kindergarten classes with students who were learning English as a second language. Additionally, Quiñones spent two years working in a university setting as the Vice-President of Student Affairs, where she focused on developing opportunities for students to strengthen skills that support their personal, academic and professional development. In addition, she is a yoga teacher and mindfulness practitioner.
