Ed.M. Candidate, Language and Literacy Program
Ariel Shapiro recently earned an Ed.M. in the Language and Literacy Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Following her graduation from Dartmouth College in 2013, she taught for two years in a Spanish-language classroom in West Dallas, Texas as a Teach for America corps member. She then taught first grade for two years in a Sheltered English Immersion classroom in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Shapiro is interested in bilingual education and biliteracy, as well as integrating rigorous academic curricula with social-emotional education in early childhood programs.
